The Mammoth Site, located in the southern Black Hills town of Hot Springs, is an internationally renowned working Paleontological site. Here scientists, university students, and volunteers are uncovering the fossilized remains of huge Colombian mammoths that were trapped in a spring-fed sinkhole 26,000 years ago.
